Anglo-Indian Trade Prospects
♦ [British Official Wireless. ] (Received 11 a.m.) RUGBY, June 19. A deputation from the Federation of British Industries was received yesterday by tjhe President of the Board of Trade, Mr Oliver Stanley, who was accompanied by the Secretary to the Department of Overseas Trade. The deputation laid before Mr Stanley the views of the federation on British trade with India, with particular reference to the forthcoming negotiations with the Government of India on the subject of a trade agreement between the two countries. Mr Stanley expressed thanks for the careful investigation which the federation had made of the problem of the trade relations between Britain and India and for the federation’s offer of assistance, and promised that the fullest consideration would be given to its representations.
