Coronation Grove Of Oak Trees

(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON", June 19. An unprecedented ceremony, at which- all parts of the Empire wei’e represented, was the planting today of a Coronation grove of 60 trees in Windsor Great Park, opposite the Royal Lodge, Their Majesties’ country home. Each tree was planted in a position corresponding to the geographical portion of the Empire represented in relation to Britain.

The King and Queen . and the-little Princesses shook hands with, the Empire. representatives, after which His Majesty shovelled earth around the first tree.

The Home Secretary, Sir Samuel Hoare, planted the United Kingdom tree, Mr M. J. Savage, the New Zealand tree, and Mr S. M. Bruce, the Australian tree.

Their Majesties later entertained the Empire representatives at tea.
