CORONER DISSATISFIED. A verdict that death was due to the action of ether on the respiratory centre of the brain ■ was returned at .the inquest today on,Doreen Paton, aged 17i years, who died on June 2, in an Auckland surgery, under an anaesthstic . while being, prepared for a tonsil ; operation. A shooting accident in the Matakitaki Valley, in the Murchison district yesterday afternoon resulted in the death of Mr, I. T. Edwards, county clerk, of Murchison. Mr. Edwards was . r qn a shooting expedition, accompanied by Mr. Hamon, a Government auditor. He tiyas carrying his rifle on his shoulder when he slipped and the weapon ‘ discharged, the bullet entering the back of his head, and killing him instantly. * '■ • • ' '
