Sheep Keenly Competed For At Kaikohe
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having a good yarding of both cattle and sheep at their Kaikohe sale on Friday. All lines met good competition from a large bench of buyers, the sheep particularly being keenly competed for and selling in advance of recent rates. Medium fat cows made £4 to £4 15/-; lighter, £3 5/- to £3 15/-; Polled Angus breeding cows, r.w. Polled Angus bulls, to £6 9/-; other pens, £5 7/- to £5 8/-; Shorthorn cross weaner steers, £2 1/-; S.H. cross weaner heifers, 35/-; boner cows, £2 to £2 15/-.
Sheep.—Fat wethers, 30/-; two-tooth ewes, r.w. Romney rams, 34/6; good woolly m.s. hoggets, 26/2; ' medium wether hoggets, 20/3. Dairy cattle.—Sound Jersey dairy cows, £4 to £4 15/-; others, £3 10/to £3 17/6.
