Prices were quite firm for all sheep lines, best fat ewes and wethers Showing a small appreciation. The cattle sale was particularly quiet. Quotations: — Fat sheep: Ewes, prime* 25/ to 26/10; seconds, 23/9 to 24/6; others, 20/ to 22/6; wethers, best* 30/ to 30/3; good* 28/ to 29/; prime, two-tooth, 33/; heavy lambs, 26/6; lighter* 22/ to 23/4. Store sheep: TwO-tOOth in-lamb ewes, best, 35/10; small* 29/8 to 31/10; four to five-year ditto, 24/6; forward 2-tooth wethers, 24/1; large wether iambs, 23/8; good seconds, 20/3; others, 17/ to 19/7; ewe ditto, choice, 30/6; well-grown, 26/5; others, 20/ to 25/; six-year ditto, 17/3 to 19/2. Fat cattle; Polled Angus cows, medium prime, £7 2/6; lighter, £6 14/; Hereford ditto, £6 to £6 15/; ex-dairy sorts, £3 17/6 to £5 15/9; heifefs, light prime, £6 15/; others, £3 17/6 to £5 17/6; vealers, £2 10/ to £3 12/6.
