Berlin Police Seize Pope’s Encyclical
(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, March 22. The Berlin correspondent of “The Times” states that a party of secret police raided the palace of the Bishop of Berlin and seized copies of the Pope’s latest encyclical, which has caused consternation in German official circles. It is reported from Rome tnat Herr Hitler has recalled Herr von Berger, German Ambassador to the Holy See, “on a holiday.
