City Rugby Club’s Rosy Outlook
The City Rugby Football Club has a very rosy outlook on the coming season; At its annual meeting, last evening, there was an attendance of over 30, The president, Mr. T. H. Stewart, was in the chair, and in surveying the club’s activities in the 1936 season, he remarked on the pleasing measure of success that had been attained. The senior team had annexed the knockout title and finished third in the championship, while the juniors also occupied third berth in their competition. ... The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. C. R. Powell (re-elected); president, Mr. T. H. Stewart (reelected); secretary and treasurer, Mr. K. Williams (re-elected); club captain, Mr. R. Ross; delegates to Whangarei Rugby Union, Messrs. A. Gattinach and G. Dent. Fourteen vicepresidents were elected. Tfye balance sheet disclosed a very satisfactory financial position. A senior, junior and third grade team is to be entered in the competitions. „ Messrs. L. Garry and F. L. Morgan, president and secretary respectively of the Whangarei Rugby Union, were present.
