Young Man Receives Fatal Burns

ZSpeclal to '‘Northern Advocate.”* CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

Burned while trying to save property from a fire which destroyed the Bealey Hotel on Friday night, Albert Cochrane, aged IS, son of Mr F. Cochrane, the liqensee, died in hospital yesterday.

Fire broke out twice during the night. The first outbreak, which occurred when a petrol lamp caught fire, was put out easily, but when, later, a fire occurred in the ceiling of the hall, all efforts to prevent its spread were fruitless.

An inquest was opened and adjourned.
