The Wanganui Trotting Club's second meeting was held on Saturday in fine weather before an increased attendance. The track was in excellent order. The totalisator handled £8,925, compared with £7,547 10/- for the corresponding meeting last year, making the total for two days, £ 15,587, against £13,074.

An inquiry was held into the display of Bismuth in the Suburban Handicap. After hearing the explanation of the trainer-driver, it was decided to take no action.

Glenrossie defeated Harold Logan in the third of the three exhibition races.

Liverpool Handicap, of 175 sovs; twc miles.—(l) Aide de Camp, scr, 1; (4) Full Hand, scr, 2; (6) Winshow, 36yds, 3. Reno was scratched. Three lengths each way. Time —4.34 2-5. Stewards’ Handicap, of 70 sovs; one mile, and a quarter.—(2) Truman,. 24yds, 1; (i) Wgrthy Audubon, -36yds, 2; (4) Cash Down, scr, 3. Little Acron was scratched. Three lengths; three lengths and a half. Time —2.51 2-5.

Ballance Handicap, of 80 sovs; trotters; two miles. — (1) Native Tree, 84yds, 1; (3) Tan John, 144yds, 2; (5) Arapai, 156yds, 3. Rowley’s Wrack, and Hard Lad were scratched. Eight lengths; four lengths. Time: —4.46 1-5.

Louis Cohen Memorial, of 80 sovs; one mile. —(10) Native Cole, 36yds, 1; (12) Waving Corn, scr, 2; (8) Bismuth, scr, 3. Trevor de Oro, Savoldi, Baron Derby and Glorietta were scratched. Two lengths; a length. Time —1.13 1-5. Farewell Handicap, of 110 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—(l) Ken worthy, 12yds, 1;. (3) Silk Cord, scr, 2; (2) Levity, scr, 3.
