LATE RATES FOR FAT STOCK [Special to “Northern Advocate .”o AUCKLAND, This Day.
An average yarding of fat cattle was offered at the Westfield fat stock sale today. They sold readily at firm late rates, ranging up to 32/ per 100 lbs for extra choice ox. Best lightweight cattle were •in particularly keen demand, and values were inclined to harden. The quality was good all-round. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., reports:— Beef—Our yarding totalled 169 head of beef, comprising 16 steers and 152 cows and' heifers, against 243 head at our Christmas sale. The quality of the offering was good, and we had a keen sale at values firmer than at last report. We did not yard any extra heavy bullocks. Extra choice ox sold to 32/ per lOOlbs; choice and prime, 29/ to 31/; secondary and plain, 26/ to 28/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 29/ to 31/; secondary, 23/ to 28/. No extra heavy prime feteers were yarded.
