KUPE CLUB SPECIAL

HALF-GUINEA PRIZE, TO BE WON

MEMBERS AND STILL MORE MEMBERS

Are You Doing Your Bit ?

Ninety-five new members!

That is the number we simply MU ST get by New Year’s Day, if our objective of one thousand members in the Kupe Club’s first year of existence is to be reached. And will we do it? 5 should just say we would.

As you will see in Kupe’s letter, 40 enrolments were received this -week, and requests for special enrolment forms have been coming with every mail. To make the world a better place to live in by being happy and bringing sunshine into the lives of others—that is the pledge of Kupe Club members. The more members we have, the more sunshine can we spread. Let each member of the Kupe Club set out to enrol at least one new member. As you all must know we’ve set our hearts on having one thousand members by the end of this month, and we’ll do it easily if each reader of the “Young Northlander” will help. ~ Last week appeared the first announcement of our Membership Campaign. Naturally enough, members w ou!d want their friends to link up and share a good thing, but to add to the fun, we’re offering a splendid cash prize of HALF A GUINEA—ten whole shillings and sixpence—for the boy or girl who can enrol us the most new members by December 31. It’s Kupe’s job as Rangatira of the Northland Tribe, to help his followers in every way possible, and th is he has done by having special enrolment forms printed. They are on glossy paper that takes ink splendidly, and anyone who wants a supply can have them for the asking.' You don’t even have to waste time in writ ing a letter. On this page is an application form which you fill in with your name and address, and the number of enrolment forms you think you need, and post to Kupe, c/o “Advocate” Office, Water Street, Whangarei. The forms will be sent to you by return pest. i

Remember your friend must fill in the enrolment ‘ form himself (or if he or she is too tiny to write, a mother or father, or grown up brother or sister may fill in the particulars inst ead). You own signature is written on the line after “Introduced by . . .” and the enrolment form should then be sent with all speed to Headquarters. How exciting it would be if you enrolled the thousandth member.

Scores will be kept carefully at this office, and at the end of the month points will be totalled, and the prize awarded to the young Northlander who has gained us the greatest number of new members. Don’t hesitate, Northlanders. Get busy at once. Help your club to reach the thousand mark, and at the same time try for the splendid cash prize offered. Just think how handy 10/6 would be for the holidays!
