Mr and Mrs E. M. Smith and daughter Shirley, left on Wednesday by car for Drury, where they will 1 make their new home. A happy party of friends of Miss Betty Heslop, who is shortly to be married, gathered at Mrs H. Ingram's home on Tuesday, when a kitchen evening was given by Mesdames H. Ingram and W. C. Wylie, in honour of the bride-to-be. Games and competitions soon whiled away the hours, and Miss Heslop opened- her varied and useful presents, each of which contained a small rhyme. A delicious supper concluded the evening. Many interesting ventures have been taken on by members' of the Kaikohe Women’s Institute, and not among the least of these is, a Glee Circle, which has lately begun. A meeting was held on Monday, June 8, at Mrs S. Greenbury’s residence, when several numbers were tried over. It was agreed to hold meetings fortnightly. The following officers were elected: —Convener, Mrs W. Shaw; pianist, Mrs Chisholm; committee, Mesdames G. E. S. Brodie. W. Shaw;, S. C. Robinson and S. Greenbury,
