INTER-CLUB GOLF

DARGAVILLE LADIES BEATEN

[Special to “Northern Advocate .”'o PAPAROA, This Day.

The ladies of the Paparoa and Huarau Golf Clubs were hostesses on Wednesday to the ladies of the Dargaville Club, at the Huarau, links, Maiingaturoto.

The day’s golf included a singles tournament in the morning over nine holes, and foursomes in the afternoon over the full course of 12 holes.

The local ladies emerged the victors in a close contest by 10 matches to 9. Following are the results, with* Huarau and Paparoa names mentioned first:—Miss Sutherland lost to Mrs Colmore Williams, 2 down; Mrs Mincher lost to Mrs J. Stubbs, 2 down; Mrs Aickin defeated Mrs Goulding, 5 and 3; Mrs Ariell defeated Mrs Marshall, 2 and 1; Mrs Cornish defeated Mrs H. Smith, 3 and 1; Mrs Goddard and Mrs Munn, all square; Miss E. M. Cornish and Mrs Vause, all square; Mrs Wallis lost to Mrs Stubbs, 2 down; Mrs Stratford defeated Mrs Tremain, 2 up; Miss Dell defeated Mrs Hosking, 5 and 3; Miss D. Cannon defeated Mrs Crump, 3 and 2; Mrs Reid lost to Mrs Bell, 4 down; Mrs Snelling lost to Mrs Brock, 1 down; Mrs Worthington defeated Mrs Worsley, 2 up. Miss Sutherland and Mrs Mincher lost to Mrs C. Williams and Miss J. Stubbs, 3 and, 2; Mrs Aickin and Mrs Ariell defeated Mrs Goulding and Mrs •Marshall, 2 up; Mrs Cornish and Mrs Goddard lost to Mrs H .Smith and Mrs Munn, 1 down;. Miss Cornish and* Mrs H. Wallis defeated Mrs Vause and Mrs Stubbs, 2 up; Mrs Stratford and Miss Dell defeated Mrs Tremain and Mrs Hosking, 4 up; Miss D. Cannon and Mrs Reid lost to Mrs Crump and Mrs Bell, 3 down; Mrs Snelling and Mrs Worthington lost to Mrs Brock and Mrs Worsley, 6 and 4. Visit to Whangarei.

The following will represnt the Huarau Club on a visit to the Mt. Denby links, Whangarei, during the weekend.
