GERMANY WANTS A NEW LOCARNO
(Received 10 a.m.) BERLIN, June 10.
Herr von Ribbentrop, Herr Hitler’s “Ambassador at Large,” .in a preface to a collection of diplomatic documents coveting the history of the Locarno Treaty, shortly to be published, declares that Germany wishes for nothing more earnestly than the negotiation of a new Locarno. However, he 6 emphasises that if a new treaty cannot be concluded without a contribution by Germany to the solution of the Rhineland question, it will take a long time in making. “Germany will not permit further discussions over her regained sovereignty in the Rhineland,” said Herr von Ribbentrop. “Germany is more interested in the future than in the past. It is Germany’s earnest desire to conclude a true and final peace with her neighbours and to build in the west a new Locarno.”
