Services And Nomads Out In Front ♦ QN Saturday the probables in the senior championship of the Whangarei Cricket Association were reduced to two. Whangarei who re- • quired a win over Combined Services to stand any chance, were eliminated, so that Services, with an addition of two points still are one ahead of Nomads, who had an easy first innings victory. batting nearly all the afternoon for about 150, it was agreed that, the big match of the day would most likely fizzle out in a draw. However, the collapse of the Whangarei batsmen left no doubt as to the superiority of the opposition.—A Services win. High scoring was the order all round, and at Onerahi Fyfe, in the second innings, registered the first century of his career in Whangarei cricket while Badeley was unlucky to miss, getting 96. For the second time during the competition Old Boys passed the 200 piark in their encounter with Hikurangi at the Reclamation and overshadowed the visitors. Old Boys are now equal with Whangarei. On the School wicket a match which commenced in the morning resulted in a two-pointer for ’Karamea.
