BOLGER PLAYS GOOD GOLF

(Received 10 a.m.) SACRAMENTO, January 20. A good opening round was played by Bolger, the Australian golfer, in the annual Sacramento open tourney for 3000 dollars. He returned a score of 74, this being two over the_ par figures for the course, and three strokes behind Melhorn, who played a fine round in 71. Other scores were:— George Naismith 76; Richardson 77; Kelly 78; Ted Naismith 80; Cohen 81; Campbell 84. Melhorn maintained his lead, with 71 in the second round, making his total for the two rounds 142. ' The second scores and totals are as follows:--George Naismith, 75—152; Bolger 77 151; Ted Naismith* 72—152; Kelly, 79—158; Cohen, 80—161; Campbell, 86— 174. Melhorn and Cox tied, with 286, for the first prize, Kelly and Cohen failed to qualify for the final two rounds. Other scores were:—Bolger 296; Richardson 297; Ted Naismith 301; George Naismith 304.
