THE SHINING CUCKOO.

(Sent in by Ronald Hawken, “The Glen.” Maunu.) There are some shining cuckoos that come every day. They come to the plum trees, but they do not eat the plums; they eat the little black leeches. Yesterday a cuckoo came with a young one. The cuckoo has a shiny green patch on the back. The breast is grey with white stripes.
