AN AMUSING GAME
(Sent in by Edna Clark, Riponui, aged 12).
Players arrange themselves in a circle with one player in the middle of the circle, who is the Chief Rhymer. The Chief Rhymer starts by composing a line, and each player in turn has to reply with a line to rhyme with it. For instance, if the Chief Rhymer says, “I saw two kittens sit on a wall,” the player might reply, “One was big and one was small,” or something similar. If a player fails to make a line to rhyme before the Chief Rhymer counts ten, he pays a forfeit, and takes the place of the Chief Rhymer.
