OBITUARY
IVIES T. 0. JENKINS. On Tuesday, March 20th, at the Paparna hospital, an old and respected resident of the Mahurangi district passed to her vest , in the person of Mrs T. 0, .Jenkins, of Ahuroa. Deceased had been staying with her daughter, Mrs G. M. Tlame.s, for a short time, when serious heart trouble developed, rendering removal to the hospital necessary. Mrs Jenkins was the younger dangh- , ter of the late Mr Henry Moir, of Moir’s Hill, near Warkworth. She i was born in Auckland after the arrival jof her parents from Queensferry, Scotj land, by the emigrant vessel Caducous jin 1859. After a few years in Auckland, Mr'Moir, with his brother and (family, came to the Mahurangi dis- | trict, and started farming on the section they had secured. As a girl and young -woman, Airs Jenkins shared (with her people the pioneer hardships jand the hard toil inseparable from establishing : a home' in a new land in , those distant days. Airs Jenkins was educated at the j Warkworth School. She was a staunch , adherent of the Presbyterian Church all her life. Her marriage with Air T, 0. Jenkins, of Ahuroa, took place in 1893, and the latter place was her home until her. death. Of a kindly and patient nature, she won the respect and affection of a wide circle of friends. Besides her husband, the deceased lady is survived by a family of two daughters and four sons: —Airs G. AT. Haines (Paparoa), Airs C. IT. Town (Alaromaku) and Messrs Lynn and ATvian Jenkins (Ahuroa), IT. A, Jenkins (Te Alcan) and Athelstan Jenkins (Taihape). A brother and siatci*, Air James Aloir and Aliss H. Aloir, reside at Beach Haven, Auckland. There are twelve grandchildren. The interment took place at Kaipara Flats yesterday. MES S. NUTSEY The death occurred yesterday, at her home in Onowa Road, Northcote, of Airs Sophia Nutsey, after a long ill.ness. Born at Chatham Islands 72 years ago, Airs Nutsey came to New Zealand with her parents, arriving at Christchurch when 18 years of ago. She was married there to Air Joseph Nutsey, and in 1899 they came to Auckland with their family, settling on the western foreshore of North-j cote, known as Hall’s Beach, Airf Nutsey died a few years later. With 1 the exception of some two years spent in South Africa, with her daughter, Airs Nutsey lived at Northcote. Until ill-health compelled her to relinquish activities five years ago, Airs Nutsey was a staunch worker of the Anglican Church. She is survived by two daughters, Miss E. Af. Nutsey, lady superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, and Airs K. Cordon Hunt, of Northcote.
