The concluding day of the Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting opened today in very wet weather. The course is waterlogged. Thjbre is only a moderate attendance. Results: Talavera Hurdles, .of 150 sovs; one mile and a half— (4-5) Mofath, 9.0, 1; (3-3) Ramuna, 9.5, 2; (9-9) Joie do Val, 9,10, 3. All started. Won by half a length; seven lengths between second and third. Time, 3.5. Novice Handicap, of 150 sovs; six furlongs.—(9-10) Grand Score, 8.0, 1; (2-1) Tavern Knight, 8.11, 2; (3-3) Cyclonic, 8.4, 3. Slippery, Bay Tree and En Vidette were scratched. Won half a length; half a neck between second and third. Time, 1.202. July Steeplechase, of 300 sovs; about three miles. —(3-2) Make Up, 11.1, 1; (5,-5) Copey, 9.7, 2; (6-6) Callamart, 11.0, 3. All started. Five lengths; seven lengths. Time, 6.57.

The Canterbury Jockey Club has decided that (the’ Winter Cup Handicap will be based on an 8-stone mimimum". For all other handicap -flat events, except the Jumpers’ Flat Race at the Grand National meeting, a 7-stone minimum will be adopted. There will be special weights for the Cashmerp Plate.
