BIG LIST OF SALES. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. The local stock market continues to show a healthy tone, and a. big list of sales has been finalised over the last 24 hours, with price changes generally in sellers’ favour. At this morning’s call there was steady bidding in the banking section and New Zealands firmed up further, with a sale at £2 8/8 and buyers still in at 4d less. Unions had fresh business at £9 and more were wanted at that figure. Insurances were bid for freely, with New Zealands in demand at £2 10/3. Shipping shares met with a good inquiry and buyers for P. and 0. deferred stock advanced their offers to £1 3/-. A couple of months back the highest bid for this scrip was 16/6. Buyers moved up to £1 2/6 for Electro-Zinc and to £1 3/6 for Union Oil. Government stocks were in demand within fairly rigid limits, and there was steady bidding in the mining section. The Noon Call.
