RTMU TO BE BROKEN UP. (Special to *'Nortliern .Advocate."') AUCKLAND, This Day. The well-known steamer Rimn, a unit of the Northern Steam Ship Com paiiy’s licet, which has been swinging idle at anchor in “Rotten Row’’ for many years past, has been sold to an Auckland "firm to bo broken up. The Rimn, a twin-screw steamer with a. length of 142 ft and a beam of 24ft, was built at Preston, England, in IS9S for the New Zealand coastal trade for a southern company. She traded on the coast for a number of years, and occasionally came as far north ns Manukau and Kaipara, on
one occasion bringing a coal cargo to Ilclensville.
The Rimn was bought by the Northern Company, lengthened, and placed in the West Coast trade. When auxiliary vessels were placed in the trade there the Rimn was brought to Auckland.
