REBEL MOROCCAN TRIBES FRENCH TROOPS TRAPPED. EIGHTY TAKEN CAPTIVE. (Australian Press Assn. —United Service.) (Received 1.5.3 p.m.) CASABLANCA, Juno 12. Rebel tribesmen ambushed two companies of French Moroccan forces. Latest reports state that 13 French soldiers wore killed, while 15 French and 65 native troops are missing. The attackers swept into a defile, completely surprising the French officers, who were killed as they attempted to rally the native troops against, whirlwind attacks.

The tribesmen, iu a final charge al full speed, rode wildly through the French ranks, firing rifles and wielding heavy swords with terrible effect. The prisoners arc being hurried to the raiders’ stronghold, where their ultimate fate is doubtful, as the tribesmen are notorious for malicious treatment of captives, especially Christians. A large force is preparing to pursue the raiders.
