(From Onr Own Correspondent.’) The fortnightly euchre nights, promoted by the Oddfellows’ Lodge and the Tennis Club, are increasing in popularity. On Tuesday evening no less than IS tables, were engaged, and play was very keen. The ladies’ prize was won by Mrs Lowlands after a play-off with Mrs T. Parsons. Mr R. Wilkinson annexed the gents’ prize ■with a good score. “Booby” prizes were awarded to Miss Lenore Ha when and Mr *W, Hawken. A plentiful supper and two hours’ dancing completed another successful and enjoyable evening. On Tuesday there was a large attendance of buyers at a sale of dairy stock at Air Graham Given’s homestead. Bidding was very keen, and many lots were sold at prices that constitute a record for the distinct. Miss Dnlcie Morrison is home for the school holiday vacation. Mr E. E. Hawken’s many friends •will be pleased to learn that he is well on the way to recovery after a recent severe illness.
