(Australian Press Association.) (Received 1 p,.m.) BRISBANE, Tliis Day,
At the assembly of the Congregational Union of Australia and New Zealand a warm .debate took place upon a resolution advocating the. outlawry of war. One delegate denounced war as infamous. Another said that if they were not prepared to defend certain principles they would be cowards. I The motion was carried; “That the Assembly • records its profound joy and thankfulness that 62 out of the 64 independent States had accepted the Kellogg Pact, and recognising that if this action is to be effective in ridding the world of the scourge of war it must be supported by public opinion. ” Rev. John Lewis, New Zealand, said that no one would vote‘for war, but if the enemy came within their gates they would resist him. He paid a tribute to the .work of the League of Nations, but declared that war could not be abolished by a stroke of the pen.
