MR COATES RETAINS CONFIDENCE.

(Special to “Northern Advocate."'' AUCKLAND, This Day. A large gathering of Reform Party supporters was held to meet t'he Right Hon. d. (t. Coates, Leader of the Opposition, After Mr Coates had given a brief outline of the political situation, resolutions were carried unanimously reaffirming allegiance to the Reform Party and its policy; placing on record high ■appreciation of the services rendered to the Reform cause by Mr Coates, and full confidence in him as head of the organisation; and pledging co-operation with any movement or organisation necessary to advance Mie cause of the party. Many new workers were enrolled at the conclusion of the meeting, mid plans wore made for active organisation throughout the city and province.
