Mrs Morgan is suffering from lung trouble and Mr Day underwent an operation for appendicitis last Saturday. WINTER SHOW PRIZES. Once again the Waima Riding has received a good advertising per the medium of the large number of Winter Show prizes coming 10 the exhibitors within the riding. Messrs Dyer Bros, sot. themselves to win the trophies attached to the farm and garden sections, and their exhibits fully merited the success they attained. Miss Howie and Messrs Rumball and E. S. Tremaine also were successful exhibitors in their classes, and, with the sundry other exhibitors’ successes, the total ■number of prizes awarded within the riding would approximate about 100. SOCIAL SIDE. Quite a pleasant evening was spent in the hall last Friday under the auspices of the local drainage camp. Messrs Cunningham’s Orchestra, of Hikurangi, supplied splendid dance music, and a sumptuous supper was served at midnight. The Puma gentlemen have included among their invited guests to their ball next Friday a large number of local residents, who intend being present, all going well. It is trusted that Jupiter Pluvius will have a little more consideration for this anticipated event than prevailed for the Whangaroi Winter Show Week.
