Interviewed by your representative last ovaluing in reference to the resolution passed at (the meeting of the Wliangarei County Council on Friday, Mr J. A. McLean, chairman of the Hobson Electric Power Board, said that immediately following the conference held in Dargavillc, when the counties adopted a resolution asking for extension of the boundaries of the Hobson Board in order Jo include the Wliangarei and Otamatca coutntics, it was arranged that the Power Board’s solicitors should format'd to the Public Works Department a draft of the proposed petition, which, in conformity with the Power Board’s regulations, is to be circulated in the Wliangarei and Otamatca counties, requiring the signatures of 25 per cent of the ratepayers of both counties.
Ho was pleased to report that the details of the petition wore now' practically finalised between the Solicitors and the department. The petition will shortly be available for the counties concerned.
