SWIMMING

FINAL CLUB NIGHT. Monday evening marked the final of the club nights for this season. The attendance was again' large., both of swimmers and public, and some excellent competitions resulted. Cups for most points gained during the season were won as follows: Junior Boys, T. Smith; Junior Girls, Dulcie Cairns; Ladies’ 50 yards, Nancy Laird; Ladies’ 100 yards, Jessie Cairns; Men’s 50 yards, M. McKenzie; Men’s 100 yards, M. McKenzie; Breaststroke, A. Smith; Diving, Olive Harris. I It is worthy of note that in each case the cup winners were those who were most regular in their attendance at the baths on club night. The carnival on Easter Monday will be run in conjunction with the school carnival, and a large number of the events will be for' children. On that day will take place the presentation of club cups and of swimming certificates won by school, children. Results of Monday night’s competitions were as follow:—Junior Boys: G. Smith 1, T. Smith 2. Junior Girls: Dulcie Cairns 1, Beryl Smith 2. Ladies’ 50 yards: Jessie Cairns 1, Nancy Laird 2, Olive Harris 3. Men’s 5,0 yards: T. Smith 1, G. .Smith 2, M. McKenzie 3. Diving: S. Jackson 1, Olive Harris 2, G. Smith 3.
