OBITUARY
REV. J. R CLARK. —_ ! . Nows has just boon received of the death pf the Rev. J. R. Clark, at Linwood, Christchurch.' The late Mr Clark will be remembered by many persons as haying been the minister of the local .Mfethodist Church from 1917 'to 1921.' While' here he endeared himself to all by his kiMdly, sympathetic anil helpful nature., : The ’ tragedy of the death of Dr. Bedford, -tfho was staying with the Rev. Mr Clark at the time, was a great shock to him, and 1 probably had a good deal to do with the failure "of his' ; health,» Mr ■Clark had a long period of service with the Methodist Church of New Zealand, doing much pioneer work in nqw 1 districts and difficult circuits. Of no niau can it be said more truly that he gave his life, for the work he loved; Many are the friends who wall grieve to know that he has gone from among them, but who will yet not regret that the warrior at length has laid his armour by.
WELL.KNOWN O.T. ; Mr Arthur Henry Wilson, who in pre-war days was well-known throughout the North as a cbnilnetcial traveller in the soft goods trade, died yesterday at Eis home in Wallace Street, Herne Bay. One of his surviving daughters is the wife of .Mr Harry Weaver, of Northebte, an ex-Mayor of Whangarei.
