ALLEGED THEFT

YOUTH AND GIRL ARRESTED. AUCKLAND, This Day. At the Police Court, Stanley Hale ' Cawte. 19, was charged with stealing a car valued at £224, the property of William Rental Cars, Ltd. A girl aged 17, who Was arrested with him at Wellington, was charged with being an idle and disorderly person. It was stated that Cawte tried to sell the car at Wellington. There were defalcations of about £IOO at the place where Cawte was employed. It was also alleged that Cawte threatened to commit suicide. i Cawte was remanded for a week in custody, and the girl until May 10. — Press Assn.
