: A DISCLAIMER. (To the Editor.) Sir, —Will you allow me’ space to correct a mistake in yesterday’s issue of the Northern Advocate”? In your report of the opening of an undenominational place of worship at Waikaraka you said that Mr J. ■Cochran “represented the Church of England.” I wish to make it clear that this is not so, since Mr Cochran is a private individual. The Church of England can only be officially represented in this parish by myself, the assistant priest, or with my permission by a lay reader licensed by the Bishop. Mr Cochran has no authority or permission to conduct any services as a representative of the Church in this parish.—Yours sincerely, H. T. STEELE, Vicar of Whangarci.
