SHEEP, CATTLE AND CLEARING SALES.

DALGETY’S REPORT.

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held sheep fairs at Ohaeawai, January 26; KaiLohe, January 27; Bassett’s Yards, Nukutawhiti, January 30; usual monthly stock sales at Kamo, January 28; and clearing sales at Okaihau (January 25) and Moerewa (January 29). Sheep Fairs. —At Ohaeawai there was a small entry of sheep, the yarding being chiefly lambs. Competition was dull, with bidding very erratic. Southdown R X 2-tooth ewes, 18/6; medium fat lambs, 17/10; fair W woolly ewe lambs, 12/; medium W woolly M.S. lambs, 8/3; cull lambs, 4/2. At Kaikohe. —A good entry of all classes of sheep came forward, with competition fair for ewes, while young ewes and lambs were keenly sought after. 2-tooth wethers, fair sorts, 19/6; 2-tooth ewes, good, 26/8; 4 and 5-year ewes, medium sorts, 14/1; inferior sorts, 10/ to 11/2; good ewe lambs, woolly, 15/; good wether lambs, woolly, 13/1 to 14/6; cull lambs, 7/4; 3-shear S.D. rams, sgns, Shropshire rams, 3-ghear -sgns.

At Bassett.’s; Nukutawhiti.—There was a good yarding of sheep, being principally . x ewes, which met with "keen competition at an advance on late rates. A particularly fine line of 500 4 and 5-year ewes came forward from Pakotai on account of Mr. T. N. Blake and realised 20/9 and 21/. 4 and 5year Romney X ewes, 14/6, 15/3, 17/, 17/6, 18/ to 19/2; inferior sorts, 12/; culls, 3/6; 2-tooth ewes, 24/ to 26/6; cull lambs, 5/7; F.M. Romney rams, IJgns.

Cattle Sales. —At Kamo there was an average yarding of cattle. Bidding was fair, with prices on a par with late quotations. Sheep were yarded in small numbers. Light unfinished bullocks, £7/8/ to £8; Si to 4J-year steers, £6; 2J-year, £4/10/; 1-year S.H. steers, £2/4/; cows and calves, inferior sorts, £2/17/; boner cows, £2 15/, £2/17/, £3/8/ to £3/17/; store
