BRITAIN’S LAGGARD PACE WOMEN ON INFERIOR PLANE. CLASSIFIED WITH CHILDREN. (Received 10 45 a.m.) LONDON, February 4. Pointing out that Britain lags behind the Dominions and other -countries in regard to equal franchise, a group of prominent women educationists and others, including Viscountess Rhondda and Mrs Margaret Wintringham, an ex-Commoner, in a letter urgently appeal to the Government to annihilate without delay the existing distinctions between men and women voters. They complain that Mr Baldwin’s 1924 election pledge has not been fulfilled, adding: “In the meantime 5,000,000 women are still classed tor, purposes of citizenship with children, lunatics and criminals. —Sun.
