He was riding a < horse along the road about three miles ; fro’fff Taumarunui. A Hindu serubcut- ] ter in the vicinity heard the horse gal- , loping hard and on going to investigate found Beck lying unconscious, face downwards on the road. A doctor was called, but pronounced life ex, tinct.
