"They certainly have very dignified bankruptcies in Hawke's Bay," said his Honour Mr. Justice Alpers at the Napier Supreme Court, during the hearing of a civil action in which it was stated that the defendant had filed for £69,000. Later on in the case (says the "Telegraph"), certain evidence was given as to an arrangement that liad been made with the defendant's creditors at the time of his bankruptcy. "Hawke's Bay is famous for its climate," interjected his Honour, "and it should also be famous for its reasonable creditors."
Dr. Eirz.Tbeth Gunn, whose name is lion- a household word throughout the Wanganui education district, is at present in Palmerston North preparing for the annual health camp to be held at Turakina shortly (states an exchange). The children selected for the health camp arc medically examined and weighed and measured, and the children most below in weight arc given the first chance. Some 35 children from Palmerston North and 12 from Feilding are being picked. A special car is being put 011 the New Plymouth express 011 Monday next, November 16, to take these children to Turakina. The camp costs Is a (lay per child. The treatment. for malnutrition is spccial diet, rest, fresh air, plenty of sleep, regular meal hours and heliotherapy.
