"PRISONS FOR POOR."
THE PRIVILEGED RICH. ARBUCKLE CASE FEATURES. (Received 9.30 a.m.) ■SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 2. The defence scored a point when the City Medical Board which examined Miss Rappe's vital organs reported that she had suffered from inflammation of the bladder -before her death. The District Attorney, Mr Brady, commenting on 'the case, said: "Prisons were built for poor men. If Arbuckle were poor undoubtedly ho would go to prison. In every move we have found ourselves up against this . wealth obstacle, and it has taken the heart out of me.''
The prosecution in summing up the case irade a strong attack on Arbuckle, asking why he waited so, lomg before telling what had happened, and declared he had carefully studied how to fabricate a story to meet the known facts in connection with Miss Eappe's injury fit the party.—A. and N.Z.

The defeice in the Arbuckle case announced that Miss Anne Morgan, the nurs? who testified that she had previously seen Miss Eappe when ill tear her clothes off, was now lying at deatb ? s door, suffering from the effects of poison. How this was administered was unknown.
Counsel addted that the State had attempted to intimidate Miss Morgan, declaring that, if she came .to San Francisco to testify, her career would be ruined. —A. and N.Z.
