FINDING AMAEKET.
FOR SECOND-CLASS MEAT,

Mr O. Hawken (Egmont) asked the Minister of Agriculture yesterday if lie would And out whether there was a market for second-class meat either at Home or abroad in the way of an army contract or some other such market. Probably there were more than one nillion second-class carcases to be shipped from New Zealand this year. They were not worth moTe than one penny per lb. The Minister said that he would be vary pleased to make inquiries. It was not a very easy subject to deal with. The first need was to find the market, which was a difficult matter with so much old meat offering. However, he would be glad to make tha inquiries.
