FRESH FUEL
TO JUTLAND ARGUMENTS.
ADMIRALS' CONDUCT
OF A HIGH ORDER,
(Received 9.40 a.m.)
LONDON, Dec. 18,
In connection with the Jutland despatches the "Morning Post" says that the documents show that Adimirals Jellicoe and Beatty's conduct was of the highest order. They prove that under Admiral Jellicoe's command the Grand Fleet in every conceivable manoeuvre had been con' stantly practised and every contingency foreseen. Th e "Daily News" states that tho main controversy whether Admiral Jellicoe had it in his power to destroy the German fleet will never be settled. Admiral Jellicoe will receive praise or blame as the critics are in sympathy with one type of strategy or another. The "Times" in a leader declares that the Jutland report will not help in the dissipation of the impression that it was a "British reverse. The report is too voluminous and too mechanical to command /public understanding and the only result may be to add fresh fuel to fan the flames of those interested in the controversy. —"Times."
