Messrs A. H. Nathan, L,td., advise "-that the Surrey will arrive from New York at noon on Saturday.
The Waihemo was expected to leave last night for Suva, Vancouver and San Francisco-
On October 15 the Matatua is exipected to arrive from Wellington to loading cargo for New York and Boston.
Last Tuesday the Waimarino left .Vancouver for Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. She brings 2000 jtons of paper for the Dominion.
On Wednesday afternoon the Government steamer Hinemoa returned from a visit to lighthouses in the gulf .and berthed at the Central •wharf. -After coaling she will sail for th e Kermadec Islands, and will (return in about 8 days to load stores for northern lighthouses.
The Northern Company's steamer Rimu, en route from Onehunga to Auckland via Hokianga> passed Cape Maria ,Van Dieman at 11 o'clock on Wednesday evening. She was expected to reach Auckland early this morning.
Owing to very heavy demands for passages to England, th e New Zealand Shipping announce •that intending passengers would be well-advi&ed if they secured berths 'between January and May of next -year at an early date.
