NEW YORK, Oct. 6,
The "New York Times'" Washington correspondent states that there lie considerable interest attaching to the controversy between Senator Spencer and President Wilson. Senator Spencer alleges that the stenographic report of th c eighth Plenary Session of the Supreme Council shows that the President promised Serbia ■and Roumania American aid in 4ie event of their being attacked in the future. President Wilson sent Sanator Spencer a denial. Senator Reed, however, made a statement polinting out that the truth of the stenographic report was not questioned and challenging President Wilson to produce his copy of the minutes of the meet ing.—A. and N.Z.
