IMPROVEMENT MANIFESTED

AUCKLAND, This Day,
Prices for beef at the Westfield fat stock sales yesterday showed an im provement compared with last week's rates. The advance was chiefly in respect to choice ox and prime beef, which realised £2 8s to £2 14s per lOOlibs.. an increase of about 2s per lOOlbs. Ordinary quality beef fetched £2 Is to £2 6s.
/Sheep prices also showed an advance. Wethers fetched from £1 15s to £2 9s, ewes £1 6s to £1 18s 6d, and lamlbs £1 3s 6d to £1 14s 6d.
Keen competition ensued for the pigs offered, baconers and choppers realising £5 10s to £8.
