SYDNEY, This Day.
The Prince is not well advised in his sporting ventures, us far at least as Sydney is concerned. On Saturday he tried his luck in five or six events on the card. The nearest he got to a winner was SilvertOß, which dead-heated in the Gold Cup. He lost £44 on the day.
He speut. two comparatively quiet days after the races. He dined with tin- Governor on Sunday and attended the Cathedral, which was thronged. Twenty thousand people gathered in the vicinity to view tho Prince enter. He visited the Ranlwiek Military Hospital last night.
The Prince depart jd for Canberra to lay the foundation stone of the Federal Parliament Houses to-day. Special trains with legislators and other luminaries left Sydney and Melbourne to participate in the historical function. —A. and N.Z.
