It was noticed that clinging to the end of almost every hair of the cow's hide were innumerable lice.. An effort was made to roughly estimate their number, and by taking a patch six fr-ches square and counting them and multiplying the remaining space a (conservative estimate put the number of lice on the cow in question at .the incredible numiber of hall a million. A farmer present made the observation that almost half the cow? in the Waikato were infected with lice in the Winter and early Spring, and also that in his opinion this reduced, their milk yield at least onequarter. Just reckon the astounding waste: If half the herds ■in the country are infected with lice, and a quarter of their yield lost to the farmer, it means that thousands of pounds every year go to feed these hungry parasites. Here, then is a remedy: Buy a tin of "THOMPSON'S LICERINE" and smear a little ilown the animal's back. "Licerine" kills them all. An absolutely new preparation—wonderful in its results. Effective on cattle, horses and pigs. For Cattle Tilck: Apply small quantity on affected parts.
