A CANADIAN COW.
PROVES A RECORD BREAKER.
A Canadian cow is giving promise of breaking the world's record for one year'g milk production over all ages and breeds. Will she "put <"t over", or will she "crack?" That is the question dairying enthusiasts are asking eacli other (says the IViesian Bulletin). Zarljdti <ClothPde 3rd de Kol ( owned by Colony Farm, Essondale, 8.C., which last year broke the Canadian record by making a strictly official year record of ;{0,4271bs milk, containing 1,072.23----lbs butter is now making another > ear record that threatens to beat even the phenomenal production of the hitherto unapproached champion of the world, Tilly Alcartra. The figure 3 for the great California cow are, n:s we all know, 33,425.31bs milk in a year, quite an imposing figure to stack up against. If, Zarilda can hold her own for the next six months, she will slightly surpass the. production of her American rival. Zarilda Clothilde 3rd de Kol ha 3No her credit 19,337.3-lbs milk in the first. 185 days of her test, which is 646.8 lbs more than the amount given as the six month's record of Tilly Alcartra. Zarilda averaged 104.51bg milk a day for the entire six months, and during her sixth month produced 2,963.41bs mak, showing that she is still going strong. Her butter record' for the 185 day s is given as 685.211bs j which, although not as sensational as her milk record, is highly creditable.
