WANGANUI, This Day. The mutton butchers at the Imlay Freezing Works ceased work on Tues. day. It appears that there isa dominion wide shortage of mutton but-
chers and freezing works in another
part of this island have offered a higher rate of pay than was fixed by the agreement, cosequently some left Imlay and others demanded a similar rate. Negotiations were continued yesterday < the men not working meanwhile. To-day is a holiday, The Castlecliff Company conceded the extra pay and obviated trouble there.—Press Assn,
