WEDDING BELLS
POWELL—JAMES.
A very pretty wedding was solemnised in the Whangarei Presbyterian Church to-day, when Mr Richard Allan Powell, eldest son of Mr J. J. Powell, of Dargaville, was united in the bonds of matrimony to Miss Lilly James, second daughter of the late Herbert James, of Whangarei. The Rev. G. W. Lochore was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her eldest brother, Norman, was daintily at-, tired in ivory crepe de chine, hand embroidered, and wore the customary veil and orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet and was attended by her youngest sister, Miss Annie James, wearing a pretty biscuitcoloured crepe de chine, with black picture hat and bouquet to match dress. Mr Jack Rope capably filled the position of best man. The bride's travelling dress was a tailored costume. The newly married couple left by the mid-day boat amidst showers of confetti, en route to Auckland, where they intend .'pending their honeymoon. The future home of Mr and Mrs Powell will be in Dargaville.
