THE TURKS DECIMATED.
GALLIPOLI EFFECT
SYDNEY, Jan. 0,
Major-General Sir Charles Rosenthal, who commanded the Second Australian Division, has returned. In an interview he emphatically protected against tho view that, the Gallipoli campaign was a failure. It was necessary to study the war in all its parts. Gallipoli had far-reaching effects in the results of the war. We have access to papers which show that the Turkish army was absolutely decimated on Gallipoli,' and that it was not possible for Turkey to have an army again for some time. —A. and N.Z.
