WAIOTIRA.
Mr Allan Hartnell had the misfortune to have the top of his thumb crushed off, through getting it caught in the cogs of a timber jack. The Public Works have now got permanent offices in Waiotira. Mr N. W. Nichqlls is in charge as paymaster and clerk. There are also a draughtsman, engineering cadet, and the assistant engineer, Mr Thomson, all the staff being returned men.
Fletcher's manager has just bought a line of 120 fat wethers from Stephen Bros. The manager states that they are, without doubt, the best he has seen this year (they were fattened at Waiotira),
