AGAINST EX-ADMINISTRATORS
(Received 10.40 a.m.)
DARWIN, This Day,
The commission has commenced hearing evidence in the charges against Judge Bevan, Mr Carey, and Dr. Gilruth —that they were all interested in a mine at Daley River, of which the lease was granted by Dr. Gilruth; that land at Daley River was demanded for Judge Bevan and Dr. Gilruth, who were the real owners; that they shook the confidence of the people of the Northern Territory to such an extent as to cause trouble. Mr Carey is also charged with being prepared to give improper consideration to the firm of Vcstey's to enable them to sell meat works to the Government. —A. and N.Z.
